Coucou Comedy is operated by Anna Crist EI (“Coucou Comedy”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal information when you visit www.coucoucomedy.com, attend a Coucou Comedy event, sign up for our newsletter, apply to perform, or otherwise interact with us.
We try to keep things simple and only collect information that we actually need for running Coucou Comedy, organising shows, communicating with performers and audiences, and promoting our events.

1. What personal information do we collect?
Depending on how you interact with Coucou Comedy, we may collect different types of information.
A. Website visitors
When you visit our website, certain technical information may be collected automatically by our website provider, Squarespace, and by third-party services used on the website.

pages visited;
approximate location derived from technical information;
date and time of visits;

B. Newsletter subscribers
If you sign up for the Coucou Comedy newsletter, we collect your email address.

weekly Coucou Comedy event updates;
information about upcoming shows;

information about special guests or other Coucou Comedy events.
You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe option provided in our emails or by contacting us at coucoucomedy@gmail.com.
Where consent is the legal basis for receiving promotional emails, we keep a record of the subscription and, where necessary, an opposition/suppression record so that we do not accidentally add someone back to the mailing list after they unsubscribe.
C. Comedian applications
If you apply to perform at Coucou Comedy, we collect the information you provide through our comedian application form.
This may include:
first and last name;
email address;
Instagram handle;
stage name or preferred name;
pronouns, if provided;
information about whether you have EU auto-entrepreneur status or another EU business status allowing you to legally work in France and issue an invoice;
dates you are available to perform;
your availability for particular themed shows;
years of comedy experience;
a link to a video of your comedy;
whether you are a visiting comedian;
travel dates, if relevant;
referrals or other information you choose to provide; and
any other information you voluntarily include in the application.
We use this information to:
review comedian applications;
decide which comedians may be suitable for upcoming shows;
check availability;
contact comedians about bookings;
organise performer line-ups;
communicate with comedians through Instagram or other contact details they provide;
manage practical booking and payment arrangements where applicable; and
keep a record of applications so that we can consider comedians for future shows.
We ask comedians to follow the Coucou Comedy Instagram account because booking confirmations and other booking messages may be sent through Instagram. This is intended to insure important booking messages do not get lost in Instagram message requests.
Following the account is not treated as consent to receive a general marketing newsletter.
We do not use comedian application information as a general mailing list.
How long do we keep comedian applications?
For comedians who are not booked, we generally keep application information for up to two years after the last meaningful contact or application activity, after which it will normally be deleted.
We may keep certain information for longer where necessary because a comedian has performed for us, where it is needed for accounting, payment, legal or contractual purposes, or where another legitimate reason for retention applies.
D. Information relating to performances and payments
If you perform for Coucou Comedy, we may need additional information necessary to organise and pay you, such as invoicing information and other information required for our legal or accounting obligations.
Information needed for accounting, tax or other legal obligations may be retained for the period required by applicable law.
2. Why do we use personal information?
We use personal information only for appropriate and relevant purposes, including:
running and maintaining the Coucou Comedy website;
organising comedy shows and events;
processing comedian applications;
communicating with performers;
sending newsletters to people who have signed up;
responding to questions and requests;
selling or facilitating tickets and event bookings;
processing or facilitating payments;
promoting Coucou Comedy and its events;
documenting performances and events;
understanding how our website is used, where permitted;
protecting our website, business, performers and audience; and

4. Photos, video and audio at Coucou Comedy events
Coucou Comedy sometimes takes photographs, videos and/or audio recordings at live comedy events.
The main purpose is to document and promote Coucou Comedy, our shows and our performers.
This may include content published on:
Instagram;
TikTok;
Facebook;
the Coucou Comedy website;
newsletters; and
other Coucou Comedy promotional channels.
Audience members
We generally aim to focus photography and video on the performers and the event itself rather than deliberately filming individual audience members.
However, because Coucou Comedy is a live comedy show, audience members may occasionally appear incidentally in:
wide or group crowd photographs;
short crowd videos;
audience reactions; or
recordings of interactions between comedians and audience members.
For example, during crowd work, a comedian may interact with an audience member and their voice may be recorded as part of the performance.
This does not mean that Coucou Comedy secretly records individual audience members' faces for the purpose of publishing crowd-work videos. Our normal practice is not to deliberately film identifiable audience members as the subject of crowd-work content without addressing the relevant permissions.
Where we intentionally create close-up or specifically focused content involving an identifiable audience member, we will seek appropriate permission where required.
We may also provide information at venues or events about photography, video or audio recording.
If you believe you appear in Coucou Comedy content and have a concern about a particular image, video or audio recording, please contact us at coucoucomedy@gmail.com and tell us which content you are referring to. We will consider your request in accordance with applicable French law and the GDPR.
Performers
Performers may be photographed, filmed or recorded during their performances for promotional and documentary purposes.
By applying to perform or performing at Coucou Comedy, performers should expect that performances may be photographed, filmed or recorded and that resulting promotional material may be published through Coucou Comedy's promotional channels. We respect the your ownership of your material and will not publish audio of your performance that includes entire jokes without prior and explicit consent.
Where a particular use requires a separate permission or agreement, we will address that separately.
5. Ticketing and event services
Some Coucou Comedy events may use third-party services for event listings, ticketing or bookings.
Our website may contain an embedded calendar/event component provided by EventCalendar.co and may link to or embed Eventbrite for ticketing.
When you interact directly with those services, they may collect and process personal information under their own privacy policies and terms.
For example, ticketing information may include your name, email address, booking information and payment-related information depending on the service and event.
We do not control how independent third-party platforms process information once you interact directly with their services.
6. Payments
Coucou Comedy may use SumUp for payments.
Where payment is processed through SumUp's secure payment environment, payment-card information is handled by the payment provider rather than being stored by Coucou Comedy as a full card number.
Payment providers may collect and process information according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.
We may retain information necessary to record and account for payments, such as transaction details and amounts, for the period required for accounting, tax and legal purposes.
7. Squarespace and website forms
Our website is hosted and operated using Squarespace.
Squarespace may process information relating to website visitors and information submitted through forms on our website, including our comedian application form and other forms we may use.
Information submitted through our forms may also be transferred into or stored in our internal records, including Google Sheets, where applicable.
We use this information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
8. Google Sheets
We use Google Sheets to organise certain information, including comedian application information and, where applicable, newsletter information.
Access to these records is limited to people who need the information to operate Coucou Comedy.
Google may process information on behalf of or in connection with its services. Depending on the service and configuration, information may be processed in countries outside the European Economic Area.
Where applicable, such processing is subject to the safeguards provided by the relevant service and applicable data protection law.
9. Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
Coucou Comedy uses social media platforms including Instagram and TikTok to promote shows, communicate with performers and share event content.
We may publish photographs, videos or other promotional content on these platforms.
These platforms are independent companies and may process information about people who interact with their services according to their own privacy policies.
If you click on or interact with social-media content, widgets or links on our website, the relevant platform may also process information about your visit.
We do not control the data practices of Instagram, Facebook or TikTok.
10. Google Maps and other embedded content
Our website may use third-party services such as Google Maps to display venue or location information.

13. How long do we keep personal information?
We do not keep personal information forever.
Different types of information are kept for different periods depending on why we collected it.
As a general guide:
Newsletter information:
We keep your email address while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we remove it from our active mailing list. We may retain a minimal record of your unsubscribe request where necessary to make sure we do not accidentally contact you again.
Comedian applications:
Generally up to 2 years after the last meaningful contact or application activity, unless there is a reason to retain information for longer, such as a performance, booking, payment, accounting or legal obligation.
Booking and payment records:
Information may be kept for as long as necessary to manage the booking and for the periods required by accounting, tax and other legal obligations.
Website technical information:
Retention depends on the relevant Squarespace settings and third-party services involved.
Photos, videos and audio:
We may retain promotional media for as long as it remains useful for documenting or promoting Coucou Comedy, unless there is a specific reason to remove it or a legal obligation requires otherwise. Original files that are no longer needed may be deleted.
We periodically review information that we no longer need.
14. Who may receive personal information?
Depending on the purpose, personal information may be accessed by:

people helping Coucou Comedy organise or operate events where access is necessary;
Squarespace;
Google and Google Workspace services;
Eventbrite;

Some of the companies we use, including large technology and social-media providers, may process information outside the European Economic Area.
